Glory in the Cross
September 6th, 2008Why do we always Lutherans have to say about the cross? I wonder if today the text of Jesus Transfiguration, not give us an idea of this all-too-human weakness. First, Transfiguration simply means that your appearance has been changed for the better! Your form has not been changed-none of this science-fiction body morphing things. You stay the same, even you, but your appearance is different glorious. We say that young children, wives and mothers beam? Well, imagine literally beaming all the pores of your skin. That’s what happened to Jesus on the mountain. His heavenly glory and has shown through its mortal body.
