Program of the month is “The theology in popular music”.
Some of the most powerful faith formation occurs when people connect their iPods - theology delivered with a minimum of distraction, directly to the brain. Thus, building a software (or series) around the theological messages of popular music. Some groups clearly theological references (U2, for example), others imply that their vision. Invite students to bring their favorite songs and discuss what the words and music say to the world, the singer, the public, and God. A Google search will give you the floor to the most popular music. You can do this exercise with “Christian bands,” of course, but the discussion is often more lively when the music is less explicitly religious.

Norway Will End Evangelical Lutheran Church As State Religion

In Norway, a compromise announced Thursday, 7 political parties in the Stortinget (parliament) have agreed to amend the country’s constitution to eliminate the provision in Article 2 which reads as follows: “The Gospel - Lutheran religion remains the official religion of the State. Professant Residents are required to raise their children in the same. “Aftenposten said yesterday that paragraph will now read instead:” The fundamental values of our nation is Christian and humanist heritage. “But elsewhere in the Constitution, the Norwegian Lutheran Church will be designated as a” popular church “, and the king will still be required to be a member of the Evangelical Lutheran faith. Instead of government appointment of bishops and deans which are proposed by the Church, under the reform the Evangelical Lutheran Church will appoint them if they are still state employees. Finally the Church of Norway will implement a “democratic reform” to give members more great influence. Amendments require the approval of two-thirds of Parliament and should be approved in 2012.

What is the differance between lutheran and catholic

There are similarities in the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran Church. Martin Luther, the Protestant reformer who founded the Lutheran name, broke from the Roman Catholic Church, but kept parts of the faith that were scriptural (based on the Bible). Later did Reformers not do this, which is why we have more similarities than other  denominations. We are both practical Baptism of children, and communion as sacraments. RomanoCatholics also include other 3 which we reject. We also reject purgatory, praying to the saints, and praying to Mary as unscriptural. Our service is very similar to that we are both liturgical. There is a set format. Lutheranism is based only on Scripture. Roman Catholism is based on Writing Papal decrees + + history of the Church. Lutheran Churches are governed locally, not by a large church hierarchy.

What’s wrong with the Lutheran religion?

To go straight to the point, the Lutheran “religion” is out of the Catholic religion (often wrongly what is called a “church”). However, the Catholic religion does not leave the Lutheran religion. At the end of this article, you will also see that Martin Luther himself was a heretic. The Lutheran religion is a child of the mother Catholic monstrosity (the “mother of prostitutes” - Apocalypse 17:5). The Catholic Church is in no way a church. It is a false religion! For those of you who do not know, a church is not the same as a religion. A “church” is simply the assembly of two or more new-born believers in the name of Jesus (Matthew 18, 20). Foolishly We tend to believe that to be in a “church” that there must be a certain type of building. This is simply not true. You can meet other believers in a field or in home and still be as much a local church. persecuted Christians during the brutal days of Rome met underground in the catacombs. “Religion” is the man of all traditions, lies, ceremonies, rituals and superstitions that the use of imposters in the name of God as a crutch to take advantage of the masses (and they are safe). Religion is the worst thing that ever happened to the dark and sinful world. You see friend, you need God, not religion. Religion is a sure path to hell and destruction (Matthew 7:13-15). You need the Lord Jesus Christ, not sacraments and rituals (Titus 3:5). Apart from the simple faith in love Savior, Jesus Christ, there can be no salvation (John 14:6).

Glory in the Cross

Why do we always Lutherans have to say about the cross?  I wonder if today the text of Jesus Transfiguration, not give us an idea of this all-too-human weakness. First, Transfiguration simply means that your appearance has been changed for the better! Your form has not been changed-none of this science-fiction body morphing things. You stay the same, even you, but your appearance is different glorious. We say that young children, wives and mothers beam? Well, imagine literally beaming all the pores of your skin. That’s what happened to Jesus on the mountain. His heavenly glory and has shown through its mortal body.
